Coats for Kids

Collecting new and gently used coats at each of our communities, Standard Pacific is a proud participant in the annual program that provides warmth for children and adults throughout Sacramento and parts of the Central Valley. This program is sponsored by News 10 and Swanson’s Cleaners, celebrating its 17th year in 2007. Since 1990, more than 360,000 coats have been distributed.

Sacramento Duck Race

As a 2006 and 2007 event sponsor, Standard Pacific Homes used each of their new home communities as an adoption location. As well, Standard Pacific Homes made a donation for each new home sold during the adoption period. The Annual Great Sacramento Duck Race benefits Special Olympics of Northern California. On race day, up to 20,000 adopted ducks are dropped from the I Street bridge. The floating race down the Sacramento River offers prizes for the first duck to reach the Tower Bridge.

Winter Shelter

Partnering with HomeAid and Volunteers of America in 2006, Standard Pacific Homes converted a building at Cal Expo into a homeless shelter for those in need. Standard Pacific Homes’ associates and trade partner donated their time painting, cleaning, landscaping and refinishing the building. In addition, Standard Pacific homes’ associates volunteered to “Adopt-a-bed” by donating a set of twin sheets, blanket and a pillow.
